Service & Fellowship Groups
- Choir
- Open to anyone in high school or older, the
choir meets every Thursday from October thru April between 7:00 & 8:30
PM. The choir sings each Sunday rotating between early & late
services. The only requirement for membership is a willingness to
"Sing for our Lord"
- Bells of Joy (Bell Choir)
- The Bells of Joy
enhances the worship service with music to honor our Lord and Savior.
As with the Choir they are always looking for more volunteers.
- F. O. C. U. S. (Teens)
- FOCUS is made up of all confirmed youth of the church. They meet
after church each Sunday. They hold an annual retreat at Woodlands
Lutheran Camp.
- Thrivent
- Thrivent was formed from the merger of AAL (Aid Association for Lutherans) and LB (Lutheran
Brotherhood). It is a non-profit fraternal benefits company. The
local chapter holds open meetings at 7:30 PM on the first Thursday of each
month at Nativity Lutheran Church on US 19 North of Cortez Blvd.
- Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL)
- LLL is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) & Lutheran Church -
Canada (LCC). Their main function is to support the Lutheran Hour Ministry
which is a radio & television outreach program.
- FOLC Men's Club
- Open to all male members of Forest Oaks Lutheran Church (FOLC), the Men's Club meets on the third
Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM. The group is built around Fellowship, Fun
& Service to our Lord & Community. It is an affiliate of the
International Lutheran Laymen's League.
- Women's Guild
- Open to all women who are member of
Forest Oaks Lutheran Church (FOLC), the Women's Guild meets nine times a year
(six bible studies & three social events). The bible studies are
held at the church on the first Wednesday of each month between 9:00 &
11:00 am.
- Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)
- All confirmed women are members of the LWML of the Florida-Georgia
District. The serve the Lord by supporting local and foreign missions
as well as the District Scholarship Fund for those planning on a career in
ministry or teaching within the LCMS. The LWML meets under the
umbrella of the Women's Guild.
- Altar Guild
- As a part of the Women's Guild the
Altar Guild the women who take responsibility for maintaining the
altar supplies and materials.
- Pinochle Club
- The are several groups of 4 couples
each that make up the Pinochle Club. The meet monthly from November
thru April at times agreeable to the couples of each group. Members
contribute $1.50 each per meeting toward year end awards and to be donated
to a worthy cause.
- Arts & Crafts Group
- First organized in 1985
the women of the Arts & Crafts Group meet every Thursday morning between February and October. A Craft Fair is held in
October where the proceeds support the church and outside missions.
